PTI Blog Hop

Today’s blog hop inspiration pictures were full of color. They were interesting color combinations for this time of year.

I watercolored various color combinations and cut out some ornaments from the Brilliant Baubles set and matted them on the Mix and Mat: Berry Boughs. I used lots of gold embossing powder to highlight the foliage on the Mat and add some sparkle to the ornaments. I finished it off by using the word Christmas from the Christmas Cheer die collection and embossed it with a combination of gold and plum.

PTI- Create along with us June 2017

June Release 2017

So many beautiful cards by the design team but I was drawn to Michelle Leone's card below.

I loved the use of the texture stamp over and over again in different colors and how the sentiment pops.

My version is out of season, but I found my trick or treat die and got inspired, so I just went with it.  That's what creating is all about, right?

I ordered the Quoted: True Friends and can't wait to use it in a similar fashion as this card!

Supplies:
PTI Inks: Orange zest and Smokey Shadow
PTI Die: Shaped Sayings: Halloween
Stamps: Chevron stamp from Pine by American Crafts

Papertrey Ink March 2017 blog hop

It's the March 2017 blog hop at Papertrey Ink

These beautiful floral colors were the color inspiration for this blog hop. I have to tell you these color combinations are my favorite!

I knew in my head what I wanted to accomplish here. I only have one set of floral stamps and dies so I only had one option there. I stamped various flower elements with the different colors, not really knowing what combinations they were going to be.

I had fun mixing and matching the colors and adding dimention. The velum idea came from the gray leaves from the inspiration. I love how the entire card came out!

October Paper Pumpkin kit

I received my Paper Pumpkin kit for October and it is so cute. They put a card making kit together and it's right on trend with the unique shaker aspect. It was so fun to make! The pictures really don't do it justice. The colors are rich and the sequins are so pretty.

This was the card I made using the kit as it was intended. I did add a decorative paper strip to the top and orange twine instead of the green that comes with the kit. The other elements are directly from the kit.

I had to come up with some other ideas on other ways to use the kit because I knew I wouldn't have use for so many cards.  I keep a stash of boxes and such for gift giving and I found some plastic boxes I thought would work perfectly with the kit. I wrapped a box with decorative paper and embellished with the kit. I used the leaf cut outs and lined them with coordinating Fall papers. I really love how it turned out.

One thing stood out about the kit while I was making the card and that was how many leaf cut outs will be left after making cards or other projects. I used one leaf to embellish the top of the box but then I was trying to think of other ways to use them up. I immediately thought about placecards for Thanksgiving and I cut the little cards out, but then it turned into a little hello card instead.
I still have placecards in mind, so stay tuned because I will be working on those soon.

Mother's Day Card

I I wanted to make something different for my mom than the gifts I make for Hello Gifts so I did some looking for new card techniques. I found this cute multi slot one paper folded card tutorial.

So you can see the slots that hold a regular small greeting card and a seen tag that will hold a giftcard.

I used the mom, stitched circle, and daisy die from Reverse Confetti's Flowers for Mom confetti cuts set. I also used the banner from the same set on the card.

The tag is the stitched tag die from Papertrey Ink.

Reverse Confetti SFYTT

I have never done an official Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) from Reverse confetti, nor any other company. I decided to give it a try this month as its their 3 year anniversary. I happen to love everything RC releases and have many of their confetti cuts and die sets. This month they have this sketch:

Now most people are thinking summer time and fun in the sun themes and although I love summer because I am a teacher and get summers off, I live in the desert and summers are sweltering. So I decided to throw everyone for a loop and do a fall theme.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Hope you like it! Have a wonderful day!

New Gift Bags

I found some of these cute little bags that I thought would be the perfect size for a gift card and small treat.

I used an embossing plate on the entire bag and ran it through my big shot.  It left a blank spot on the bottom of the bag that was perfect for embellishing.

As you can see, I made a topper with a strip of paper that I glued together. I punched two holes and threaded some string to tie a cute bow.  I also die cut a small Apple from my cricut and glued it to a clothes pin.

The topper slides over the folded top of the bag and then you can clip the apple on top to seal it all together.

I love how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by!
